vintage 1945 postcard gives us a good look at the Evergreen Gardens
This fine establishment was known as an upscale
with ties to local gangster Buster Wortman, before it became home to
Foods and the G.S. Suppiger Company in 1952.
The back of this postcard reads: "Largest and finest night club in the middle west. Five spacious dining rooms for banquet, wedding parties, etc. Copyright 1945 H.C. Schnell, Collinsville, Ill."
Compliments of Doris Bauer - from her private collection.
